Great software, great partners
Our founder's first exposure to Criminal Justice was as a Special Advisor to London Probation in 2018. His shock at the way the system isn't working for those working in it or being supported by it left a profound effect and burning desire to help.
Cups of tea with offenders in cemeteries on unpaid work projects revealed time wasted, pointless interventions and sometimes unfair treatment. In probation offices, we recorded staff spending half their week on admin tasks not actually helping people. Spending up to an hour to refer somebody and then never knowing whether they actually turned up or whether the intervention was right for them.
We built Make Time Count because we witnessed first hand what happens when the system isn't joined up. Good people, doing difficult jobs, working with incomplete information, duplicating effort and sometimes missing the moment that could have changed everything. We knew technology could help.
We built our solution with the people that work in this sector and those requiring support and rehabilitation from it.
We choose to create this as a social enterprise and dedicate 51% of profits to help those impacted by the justice system start their own business because we recognised that there was talent out there.
